Books for Brexit

brexitbooksOn BBC Radio 3’s Free Thinking, I discussed what books we (and the negotiators) should be reading to deal with Brexit. My suggestions were Voltaire’s Candide, Ali Smith’s new Autumn, Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart, and Sebastian Brant’s Ship of Fools. The classicist Edith Hall, the novelist Elif Shafak, and the international relations analyst Alan Mendoza also contributed. The programme is available here.
